A wizard is never late. Nor is he early. He arrives precisely when he means to.
Which is why the front door opens at this precise moment, letting in Gandalf the Grey.
He goes to the bar and has a seat, and begins to fill his pipe.

She glances to her left and addresses him, "Hello, I'm Amanda" extending her hand.

And bows slightly over her hand. "A pleasure, madam."
And continues filling his pipe.

Hmmm... interesting if this was who he suspected it might be.

He is, in fact, a weary pilgrim on the road.

"Good evening, sir, and I say so as a greeting." There was some hidden mirth in his blue eyes.

This place was way too rife with magical happy-land types.
Harper supposed this guy was from someplace where Gelflin, the bravest little bibbet of them all saved the day by destroying the mystical jewel of Faroffshinyplace.
"The hat makes me think you're compensating for something," he said to the old timer.

Eyebrows raised, he says, "And what might that be?"

Picture if you can, a child trying to light matches near an open tank of gasoline.

No. Not Boromir. Not even close.
"GANDALF!" the dwarf booms, hopping down from his chair and scrambling across the open floor in the wizard's direction. "Well, now, this is a surprise! Put aside your white robes in favour of the old, have you?"
no subject
Bright eyes narrow slightly. "Unless -- it is one of the curious effects of this place?"

Eddie is having dinner in the bar with his wife. He goes to the bar for a new Coke.
Aaaaaand, we're staring.
Eddie's never actually read Lord of The Rings. He's heard it, John Gielgud, with skin-pop accompaniment.
Once you've seen Middle-Earth on heroin, you NEVER forget it. And here's... HIM, one hell of a vivid nodder come to life.
The Grey Wizard.
Ho-lee cow, sportsfans.
no subject
He turns to the young man. "The last time I came to this place, there was a man behind the bar by name of Tom Joad."

It's the smell of pipe weed that gets his attention when he comes down stairs, pulling his own pipe out of his pocket. When he sees the wizard attatched to the smell, he drops his pipe and screams.
He dives beneath a table and curls up there in the shadows, his head filled with the memory of fire.
{ooc: if you're not still here, slowtime would be fine, but I couldn't pass it up. *FANGIRLS!*}
