Put together one twelve-year-old witch, a magical Bar,  a miniature cauldron, and what do you get?

Come by Rose's table and you'll find out.

Guppy managed to get home for some sleep and his Holby shift, which he completed without giving away how much his arm still hurts.

When he comes back he drops another note at the bar, this time for Neric, Nancy, Rose and Rebecca.

First Aid Classes )

He's resting the arm in the sling again for now, whilst looking out for any more casualties.

Rose comes in through the lakeside door, not looking happy but embarrassed, and she's a bit pale.
There are reasons why most of her hobbies are things she would do indoors.  Rose can be clumsy, at times.

Such as when she's walking over  icy ground...or being foolish enough to try to climb a tree that wouldn't quite hold her.
Cabin fever+11- year old impatience don't make for the best judgment.
. When warmer weather hit today, she got itchy.
Defying gravity isn't a magic she's learned yet.
So: ground 1, Witch 0 is the score for the day.

The tree, at least, isn't damaged.
Eh. She'll take silver linings where she can get 'em.

Her face and one hand are  bruised. She limps a little as she heads for the Bar.
"Some ice, and a bandage, please?" she asks softly.

Mr. Bond is stalking around outside. His hands are in the pockets of his long black coat, his face is turned down, his brows are furrowed, and he is frowning. He never did handle boredom well.

In Holby there is an unnamed phenomenon that occurs when hospital staff have a crisis or unpleasant event of some form. It manifests in a number of patients appearing with an almost identical angstworthy problem, and leads either to the staff member's epiphany or an exaggeration of their misery.

As such today, following the rules of said phenomenon, a mysteriously high number of cases involving babies were noted in Holby City Accident and Emergency Department.

Fortunately, the phenomenon was cancelled out by the fact that Guppy no longer works there. And instead he has been spending the day in St James' treating all the patients that have been put off by the latest 'work to rule' chaos at City.

He's in his usual booth by the infirmary, asleep on top of a pile of paperwork. By the looks of his expression and the occasional twitching, it's not a particularly pleasant sleep, and one arm looks dangerously close to knocking orange juice all over his work.

Hao is standing near the Window, looking out. He's spent most of his time since finding himself at Milliways doing that, it seems, but the entire tableau is endlessly fascinating, even if he would be hard-pressed to explain why, except on the most basic of levels.

A part of him wishes that he could stare at it forever, but he knows that that's an unrealistic desire; he needs to be going back home. There are things he has to do.

For now though...

He's botherable, even if he won't be here for much longer.

[Millitimed to the moment after James left the bar...]

Quickly after the waitrat settles the slightly crumply pieces of parchment - each with a written note upon it - to the Bar, the notes are made available for those they are addressed to.

[notes]

They are addressed to Teddy Lupin, Rose Weasley and Maria Jackson.

Rose hasn't exactly kept to a 'normal' schedule since she got to Milliways. Where's the fun in that? So despite the lateness of the hour, she's in the main Bar area.
She hasn't been idling all the time, as evidenced by the inkstained notebook and jar she's carrying. .
She puts the items down on her table while she turns to order a snack from the waitrats. Her latest 'project' is bound for magical disposal, as it hasn't turned out to work. She had decided to take a break and see if she could figure out what went wrong, before doing anything else.
People-watching is funny, too, of course.

Rose has had a good week. She spoke to her father, and that,. most of all, made her feel a lot better about
some things.
The door hasn't reappeared yet. She shrugs, smiles, and turns away.  Lunch, and then either a trip outside or
find something to do indoors.  There's enough to stay busy with until she learns what she needs to know, or needs to do here.

There are a couple of specific people she hopes to see, but she'll talk to anyone.

(OOM: Back in Maine, Stillson continues ascending, and Johnny is tempted and threatened. (Contains Quotes and Spoilers for Season 5 episode, "The Hunting Party")

Johnny entered the bar, and debated whether to sit at the bar, or head out back for a walk. Needed to time to think. Instead of either of those two options, his steps took him toward the Observation Window, and he stared at the display outside. The inevitability of ultimate destruction. Even while he tried to stop the one at home, he worried that it too might yet be inevitable as well.

Witch inna bar.
She's not so much busy with anything magical just now, though she will be later.

She's putting up a notice on the bulletin board, before she goes to have dinner.

The note reads,
Bound patron would like to find someone(s) to teach her the basics of two or three subjects: piano playing, Earth (late twentieth to twenty-first century, please) first aid, and the Spanish language, spoken and written.  Please leave notes with bar for R. Weasley.  --thanks!

Rose is by the fireplace,  bent over a notepad. The floor by her has several crumpled sheets of paper. She's trying to
write a letter, and not having much success so far.
One of the waitrats comes over, with a mug of tea. Rose takes it. She doesn't at all mind the interruption.
Company would also be appreciated.

At one of the bar tables there is a white-haired boy with a book, which he is reading aloud to himself with painstaking effort.

He is not a good reader. Please, distract him. He'd probably appreciate it.

That day I was looking at the house of glass. It seemed things were growing in it. Had I known there were gardens as well, I might have looked at them as well, but they were all buried beneath the snow. So I was left to peer into the house of glass from above and ponder what it might be used for.

Your server is: Valerie

Valerie chalks her name up on the board, dusts her hands on her apron, and heads out on her rounds. Waitress on duty; feel free to flag her down.

Teja is in the forge, wearing a leather apron instead of cloak and armour, and folding steel.

It is a very lengthy procedure, and he likes to have folded steel at hand, should anybody commission swords, daggers, throwing blades or anything of the sort.

The door is ajar, though, as anyone that has seen Teja's notice or would otherwise commission work, anyone that wants to collect a commission, or discuss the progress of one, even any random passer-by, is welcome.-

Rose  asked Bar for some Muggle clothes today. She doesn't feel like wearing Hogwarts or any kind of robes.
So, today, she has on a sweater, jeans, and boots. The only 'witchy' part of it is her Ravenclaw badge, which is in her pocket.
She's outside, working on a snowman.  It's about half done.  No magic involved, not this time.

[ooc: most definitely slowtimed to Christmas because I haven't been around! But I wanted to get James' gifts out.]

Left to his own devices, and without the nagging of his mum or dad, James had to scramble to get his gifts to the Bar for distribution for Christmas morning.

Luckily he had seen Will to give him his gift, but there are others whom he has to give things to.

Gifts to Teddy, Inari, Ginny, SARAH, Mia (and Draco), Jamie, Kick and Rose )

All are accompanied with a silly Christmas card greeting bewitched to sing several carols and a messy 'From James! :)' written at the bottom of it.

...that's why she's awake, and also going to her mother's room. Only this is not her mother's room.

Regan is standing in the doorway, not doing anything apart from staring at her surroundings. She's a little pale and disheveled, and her eyes are slightly out of focus. Regan's not been too well recently, and has also been having some nightmares, so she's not entirely sure whether she's still asleep. It would explain the bed shaking.

OOC: I may not reply for a little while.

Rose? For once, isn't carrying either books or her wand.
She's outside, having gotten winter clothing( and a pair of skates) from Bar.
The lake looks semi-frozen, but she knows better than to trust that.  She'll keep near the edge.
That is solid, and there's a broad enough stretch of ice for decent skating.
There's snow in her red hair,  and a grin that won't go away.
She stops to sit on a snow-covered boulder, and switch boots for skates.

Rose has been trying not to pay too much attention to holiday decorations. But today, she's determined not to
sulk over being Bound.  She's not altogether unhappy about putting off her return home, truth be told.

Instead, she's at the piano, studying the black and white keys. She taps one gently, then another, listening to the different notes.

[pre-Milliways: November 29, 1934.]

There's a blinding flash of light, and a woman tumbles sideways through the front door. She's short, slender, and apparently fair-skinned--although it's hard to tell, because the metallic gray catsuit she's wearing covers everything but the lower half of her face. Judging by the suit, the many-pocketed utility belt, and the goggles, she's either a costumed crimefighter or a very peculiar circus performer.

After a long moment, she sits up, tugs off the goggles (leaving the cowl of the catsuit in place), and blinks owlishly at her surroundings.

"...what just happened?"

Kit Baxter, welcome to Milliways. Try to behave yourself.

[ooc: Please read this back-room post before tagging Kit.]

Rose  had found the Restricted magical books section of the library,  a few days ago.  Now she's looking at a book, carefully turning the pages.  It's  very old, and she doesn't want to damage it.  The page she's reading holds an illustration of a wizard holding up a wand, and the word 'to see the future' at the top.
After a minute, she shakes her head and pushes it away a little.  She waves at a waitrat, to order some hot chocolate.

Botherable.

[In from "Four Months Later". :3]

When the door to the bar opens it's someone who hasn't been seen in-bar for a long time.

A Very Long time. To Matt Parkman it feels like forever, but given everything that's happened in the past four months Matt Parkman isn't entirely sure that it wasn't for the best.

No sense hurting innocent people.

It's still a complete and utter surprise however when he arrives in the bar from the NYPD's precinct.

He'll just kind of be standing here openmouthed for a little while, NYPD detective badge hanging off his chest.
