Since that strange night, Charles has been an owl. He hasn't seen anyone he knows and has been enjoying flying around outside but he wants to get back to himself. This is awkward and his feathers require a lot of work.
Today he is perched on the back of a chair with a newspaper laid out on the table and a small bowl of nuts. He refuses to eat a mouse or bird even if some of them do look tasty.
Tiny tag: Palamedes
(OOC: Open all weekend. Charles will be speaking telepathically into your pup's head if he decides to talk to them. If they have mental shields, let me know, as he's sort of listening, just not as much as usual. Being an owl is distracting. Also ignore the rather large timestamp from one thread to the other, its been my first week of work. Thank you.)

So naturally Cy has a head full of numbers and doesn't notice the owl.
[ooc: mainly a placeholder tag but might be able to reply here and there today.]

It snarls and snaps and tugs on its short leash, ready to devour any unwary foreign thoughts that wander too close.
The woman doesn't seem to be doing it on purpose. She's concentrating on the food before her, not on the mental landscape of the bar at large.
[OOC: nescecarilly short thread I doubt Charles will want to speak. But I thought this Might be the safest time to introduce him to her "defense" in case of future threads]

Carefully he strengthens his own shields as he sees who that mind belongs to.

It would at least understand human language, as it is reading a newspaper.

Yes, I can speak. Hello, Teja, we met before. My name is Charles Xavier.
It wasn't a good meeting, but Charles tries to keep hopeful about people.

Count is squirming, and Teja firmly tucks him under his arm. "That is a patron who is usually human," he informs the cat, "so he will not eat you; but birds like that can, if they want to, so keep your distance!"
The cat, of course, does not understand.

Its an odd way to be identified but at least it works and he isn't getting accused of stealing the man's memories again.

These things happen with a Martian on the team.
As far as Artemis is concerned though, she's getting an Italian soda. Grapefruit maybe.

The owl brings her up short, for a moment. For a brief moment hope flares like a miniature sun before she moves beyond the 'owl' and more into who is behind it, and...
She doesn't sigh, she has too much training for that, but still. Frustrating.

I might have to try one of those root beer things... she ponders, flipping through a drink menu.

Also his last conversation with Erik left him feeling like a fool again. The bird part of him wants to go and be near those lovely wings and he flies over to her.

Palamedes notes the movement though and looks up to smile at the bird before saying, "Good day," not really expecting an answer though stranger things have happened, both here and in his world.
