Carlotta is in the main bar, with her school report.

She has to laugh, just a little, when she sees her French result. Because of a certain bet she has with a certain king in the forge.

She looks around for him; she'll try outside if he's not in.

Teja is by the fireplace, with his guitar, singing a somewhat melancholy song.

Carlotta hesitates, wondering if he's okay.

[ostro_goth]

"Carlotta," Teja says, looking up from his guitar when his song is done. "Is anything the matter?"

[fiery_ring]

Many things are the matter, but nothing new, so she smiles slightly and heads over.

"I have my report sir, it puts an interesting slant on our bet."

[ostro_goth]

"You didn't manage to gain the top half, did you?" Teja says. "And I hope you weren't last?"

[fiery_ring]

"I was both sir. They gave me the wrong paper." She passes her report to him.

"That's why it was so terribly difficult; it was the sixth form end of term exam."

[ostro_goth]

"One?" Teja says.

"One of one? None else took that test?"

[fiery_ring]

"Well the sixth form did, but it would hardly be fair to rank me with them." Carlotta says. "They're a whole year ahead!"

"So what shall we do?" Teja says. "You did come in in the top half. And also, you were last!"

L slowly creeps out from under a bar table where he was drinking his coffee. He's been quietly watching this girl for some time. She has been smiling and looking around, and it striked his interest. So, he has decided to crawl out of his little self-made fort and approach her.

He went to the bar and got two cups of coffee and some cake. He always found that if you approached someone and you had food, you creeped them out less.

"Hello there," he said, sitting down. He usually just assumed that the person would eventually ask him to sit down, so he would sit down anyway. "I am Hediki Ryuga."

She looks slightly surprised, particularly at his odd posture, but she smiles politely.

"Hallo, nice to meet you... Ryuga-san?" She did some research after meeting Momiji. "I'm Carlotta."

"Yes," said L, smiling, "Ryuga-san. Care for some coffee, and some cake?"

[fiery_ring]

"No thank you, I already ate." Carlotta says politely. She's been in the bar long enough to be wary of food from strangers.

"Would you like a cushion?"

[l_is_ryuzaki]

L found it a bit odd that she wouldn't take free food. Oh well, more cake from him.

"No thank you, ma'am, this is comfortable for me. If I sat any other way, My IQ would drop nearly 30%, and I wouldn't be able to analyze my surroundings as well as I do now."

L took a bite of cake.

"From my guess, I'd say you're from the 1940's era from England?"

Carlotta glances down at the school report on the table.

"Well yes, it does say so on the sheet in front of me. And I can say you're most likely from Japan in a time between 1990 and 2010. But you sit how you like, I only offered in case it was medical, since it looks awfully uncomfortable from here."

She tucks away her school report. "What's an eye queue?"

"No, it's not. I assume you're not referring to me there..."

Shrug. "We don't measure IQ at home, everyone is expected to just do their best and their level of intelligence is obvious."

Helena is sat at a table, doing maintenance on her weapons. She's not who Carlotta is looking for, but perhaps she'd like to have a chat with Huntress anyway.

Carlotta spots her and heads over.

"Hallo." she says, smiling slightly.

Helena looks up and smiles as Carlotta approaches.

"Hello, Carlotta."

[fiery_ring]

"How are you?" She sits nearby.

[baptizemyself]

Helena shrugs.

"Getting by," she says. What she doesn't say is that this is the fourth time in a week that she's dismantled, cleaned and reassembled her weaponry.

"You?"

[fiery_ring]

"I'm all right." Carlotta says. It's a bit of a fib.

"I, um, told Teja what Charlie did."

Helena's expression - what can be seen of it behind the mask - turns serious. She stops in the middle of oiling the trigger mechanism of the crossbow.

"Oh?"

"Yes." Carlotta says, not really sure where to begin.

"I'm not sure I should have though."
