May the Fourth Be With The All Skate

The bar shifts, or it changed when no one was looking, and now resembles a certain cantina popular with the villainy and scum, as well as more upstanding folks. The air is dryer than usual, and a taste of grit and sand just hangs in the air. It just makes you want some blue milk doesn't it?

Has your character changed? Perhaps...who can tell? The Landlord I suppose but they aren't talking.

[ooc: HI and Welcome to a Star Wars themed All Skate, the best way to celebrate May the Fourth! Party style post. You do not have to interact with any of my characters to play.
The Rules are simple:

After being tossed by Vader and saved by the other Jedi, Cassian's crouched down out of the way, watching and aware that he has no idea how to defeat Vader.

"You're a lucky man. Not many people survive getting tossed about by him."
crouching next to him Shadin gives him a slight smile, while nodding over to Vader tossing things about.

He's wearing fairly nondescript clothing, a sleeveless coat obscuring a pair of lightsabers. Orange scars on his right hand going up his arm, matching orange eyes with red rims. Unlike some people, he's not being openly hostile and seems to be trying for friendly. Not harmless, he hasn't been able to pull that one off for ages, but friendly.

Cassian looks over and says, "I'm good at surviving."

The orange eyes and scars are new but its a big galaxy and for now he wants this man to say his piece or do something, otherwise he's a distraction.

"If you like, I can get you out of the line of fire without him noticing."

Because really.

"How?"

Moving when a fight is going on is usually another way to get caught in the crossfire. Security is involved and Cassian's good to stay here until they settle it.

"I can deflect anything that gets tossed at us and hide our presence," he said. "He's distracted enough not to notice anything I do."

He knows Vader in these moods and has taken the time to figure out how much he can get away with without being noticed. It's useful.

Still AU

She is doing all she can to keep herself small and quiet in the Force.

She doesn't need Vader's attention.

She crouches behind him. She clears her throat. She doesn't want to spook him.

"Are you hurt?"

He flinches as he turns, his hand hovering near his blaster as he sees her and realizes she's only trying to help, "No, I don't think so."

"Good."

She closes her eyes and breathes in.

One

She lets it out. She thinks of quiet and cool grey of rock.

Two

She opens her eyes, glancing over to the fight.

It's not her problem right now.

Three

She holds out a hand. "Come on," she says quietly. "I think they won't notice us now. Even if he does try to pull civilians in again."

Kylo Ren comes by it honestly, she thinks.

Cassian watches her breathe and focus before she offers her his hand, "What did you do?"

He asks quietly afraid to disturb what she did.

She pulls him a little out of the crouch. They don't need to stand up straight.

But she wants to move them away.

"Not much," she says wryly. "Just hoped really, really hard that they won't notice us."

That's what it feels like to her.

Crouched down across the way from his booth in another person who is keeping out of the whole situation. She can feel the power coming from the fight and feels like a fly on a bear in comparison.

"Are you alright?" she whisper yells over at Cassian.

"In one piece,"

He says with a nod to her, he met her before but isn't up to relaxing too much with the fight still going on.

"I think I can help protect us if anything flies this way, but I will need some space." If Cassian has very good hearing, he might note an odd tonal quality in her voice that wasn't there when they'd met before.

She keeps an eye on the fight to make sure nothing flying towards them.

That makes it sound like she has a kind of deflector shield on her, "You have a shield?"

"We've been training on wind shear...um, think of it like a small localized wind storm that can tear apart things."

"It's directional, so you won't get caught in it."

Cassian is not the only rebel in the bar who had drawn their blaster when the lightsabers came out. But Bitts Darklighter has already hidden hers back in the holsters over her orange flightsuit before she comes racing across the bar in a crouched run, sliding to a stop by Cass.

She'd been staring, totally gobsmacked, but another person getting hurt has snapped her out of it. Now she offers her hand, relatively tiny out of her gauntlet.

"Let's get out of the way."

She can tell when she's out of her league.

He recognizes the orange of the flightsuit but not who's in it and nods, taking her hand and following, "Yes, towards the back."

It's okay, she's new, Bitts doesn't expect to know - well, anyone yet. She's aware that it's only her piloting skills and her contacts from the Academy that got her where she is so quickly.

She follows his suggestions quickly, but can't help checking over her shoulder and staring just a little. She kows Vader - who doesn't? But that old man he was fighting looked way too familiar.

She opens the door for him, but hesitates again, looking back and frowning before finally bundling out.

"You okay?"

Once outside, Cassian takes a last glance around before sitting down with a thump, that was terrifying and checks himself out, "I don't think I'm hurt."

Bitts flops down next to him, leaning against the wall of the bar with no thought about what might happen if it collapsed. She realises almost instantly that she didn’t bring a drink out, so fishes in her flight suit for a cigarette instead. Obviously, she offers one to him.

“I thought this place was ...” not safe, no, that’s not right, “... neutral. What’s going on?”

It’s rhetorical; she doesn’t expect him to have the answers.

Sometime after successfully celling Gothy-Boy and the old man, Molly stalks out of the office, still simmering.

(She's got a long fuse - a very long fuse - but a fuse nonetheless. Quickest way to shorten it is... well, exactly what Vader just did.)

Bar gives her a bottle of beer without being asked; Molly downs half of it without stopping, then heads over to where half the bar seems to be in a complete shambles.

She still has two jobs to do, but she can't see Cassian immediately, so in the meantime she gets on with the second one: righting those chairs and tables that are still more or less in one piece, and piling up those which are beyond repair for the Loompas to take care of.

Once the fight is clearly over, Cassian stands up and is soon helping with the rearranging, its something to do and way to note how much damage Vader did. As he's doing that he sees Molly and walks over to her, "I wanted to thank you for getting into that fight."

[cute_bruiser]

"Hey, it's what they pay me for," Molly says off-handedly, dumping a chair (with only one out of four legs still attached) into the pile of junk before turning to Cassian. "No point in having rules if we don't have anyone to enforce them."

She gives him a smile, brief and light. "Hey. I was looking for you, actually - are you alright? I'm sorry you got dragged into it."

The one he rights wobbles and falls over and gets added to the broken pile then says with a shrug, "Nothing's broken."
