The Bar seems to have taken it upon herself to update Anakin's wardrobe. This morning, she presented him with a pair of jeans and a T-shirt reading 'Jedi do it forcefully.' He is currently wearing both items and looking perplexed.

"No, probably not. You do get to know faces after a while, though."

She nods in agreement. "And I have yet to completely fear for my life. Which is always a plus."

"Been here long?"

"Just over six months. You needn't worry about fearing for your life; that's what us Security Staff are for. Violence is against the rules."

"Yeah, I was told that when I first arrived. I was making a poor joke." She shrugs slightly. "Wish my world could say the same, but that's life I suppose."

"There is no world immune from violence, I've found. And no one, not even the Jedi, can stop that."

She nods. "I know. As I said, that is a component of life. It doesn't mean I will ever look on it with anything but horror."

There's a long pause. Anakin looks away, eyes distant. "Treasure that ability."

She debates with herself for a moment, then sighs. "Stop beating yourself up. Whatever happened, whatever you did--it is the past, isn't it?"

She isn't psychic. Just very perceptive. And she'd far rather be the one beating herself up for the follies of the world than see someone else suffer the same.

"People keep telling me that. And I don't spend all my time brooding. But I can't forget. It would be an injustice."

"Did I say for you to forget? I certainly would not ask you to do so--as you say, it would be an injustice. But you can accept that whatever happened did so for a reason, and your part in it is finished."

She smiles wryly. "I do not believe in fate or coincidence."

"Wise woman."

Another pause. "My part is finished, but I can still affect the future. And so I do, because what's broken must be fixed."

A smile. "That's not to say that life doesn't go on. There's plenty here to keep me occupied."

"I did not know cynicism was synonymous with wisdom." She smiles again.

She laughs. "Indeed. This place is anything but dull."

"And you don't even have an extended family of unusual size here." A beat. "Do you?"

"Um...not that I'm aware of. I haven't seen my parents, both of which are dead. My brother isn't around either. Nor have I seen my colleagues. But given my luck, it's only a matter of time before Gris--one of them finds their way here."

"I wouldn't be surprised. It started out with just Luke and I, and now...Well, between the grandchidren, the alternate future grandchildren, and the children I adopted here, it's getting hard to keep track."

She laughs. "So my days of peace are numbered is what you're trying to tell me. Oh well. It could be worse."

Standing, she smiles again. "It was a pleasure meeting you, Anakin, but I must be going now. It'll be time for me to go on duty soon."

He smiles. "Goodbye, Sara."
