Hagrid's come into the bar for a bite to eat, and a cold tankard of beer. He's in a cheerful mood today, as usual.


And still looking for people to try out his pumpkin boats out on the lake. Any takers?

Mun so wants to volunteer Jaina. So wants to. So she'll send the Jedi over to say hi.

"Hey Hagrid!" Jaina says, walking up to the bar and ordering a glass of water. She's just come inside from lightsaber training. "How are you?"

"Hey Jaina," Hagrid smiles. "Good ter see yeh! Looks like yeh bin gettin a work out!"

She nods. "Yep. I've been doing some lightsaber training. How have you been?"

"Good! Good! Bin workin' out in me pumpkin patch, actually. Ever had pumpkin? It's a vegetable - or maybe it's a fruit?"

She shakes her head. "I've never heard of it. Is it from Earth?"

Within seconds of coming downstairs, Barty notices Hagrid.

He stays well clear, but watches Hagrid from his vantage point at the bar.

Hagrid is well aware of Barty's arrival in the bar, and clenches his fists so he won't give into the urge to toss Barty outside, where the rules are a bit fuzzier.

He's promised both Bernard and Tim that he won't kill Barty unless he needs killin'! outright, and that he'll allow security to handle anything that happens if they're around.

Hagrid doesn't expect anything much to happen while security is around, which is why he continues to keep an eye on Barty.

"Evening, Hagrid," he smiles. "Long time no chat."

"Yeah," Hagrid says in a low voice,his hands itching to reach over and help Barty kiss his own arse. "A long time. Why don't we go outside and get caught up? Yeh traitorous little snake?"

"I've betrayed no-one, Hagrid," he says camly. "Fighting and betrayal are different. And no, let's not."

Down the bar, there is a land-locked sailor who would never in a million years might possibly be convinced to try it out.

"Hullo, Caspian!" Hagrid says cheerfully. "How's the boat buildin' goin'?"

Note how casual his voice is?

"Hallo, Hagrid," Caspian says, smiling up at him. "It's going quite well, thanks. I should be able to start on the hull this week. How are things with you?"

"Things're good! Talkin' ter yeh about boats got me ter thinkin' actually. I made a small boat o' me own, but I'm too big ter take it out on the lake. Bin lookin fer volunteers, actually..."

"Really?" Caspian looks interested. Run, Caspian, run while you still can!

"What did you make it out of?"

If they're normal pumpkin sized, Mitzi the flamingo would probably fit in there nicely.
Guppy spots Hagrid and heads over. He's been trying to find him for a few days. The little flamingo is sitting on his shoulder.

"Hello Hagrid. Are you busy?"

These pumpkins are between the sizes of regular to baby elephant (not Stampy).

"Hey Guppy! How're yeh doin? I see yeh still got yer little friend."

"I'm okay thanks." he says, lying though his teeth but on this occasion quite convincingly.

"Just wanted to ask you if you knew anything about magical flamingos. When I took Mitzi upstairs the first night she turned my bathroom into a pond. Since then I've discovered she understands every word I say."

"Is that so?" Hagrid asks, peering at Mitzi curiously. "Can't say as I ever heard o' one. She's not from my world, at any rate."

He pats Guppy on the back cheerfully.

"Can't blame an animal fer tryin' ter spruce up their habitat. And an animal that kin understand yeh is a lot easier ter train than one that can't!"

"I wouldn't have minded if I hadn't nearly drowned in it twice. She kept making it bigger and dropping me in. I've had laryngitis over the weekend from swallowing too much pond water. She's using the lake now, mind, so I've got the bathroom back."

Despite the pat on the back, he doesn't look particularly cheerful. Mitzi flies onto Hagrid's knee, giving him 'pet me' looks.

Margolotta is feeling rather social today, and Hagrid looks interesting. She walks over.

"Hullo, there," Hagrid says kindly. "I don't think I've seen you here before. Are yeh new?"

She gives him a pointy-toothed smile. "I've been here before, though business in Uberwald has kept me away for a while.

Hagrid eyes the teeth, but says nothing. He's met too many different people around here, and after spending one evening chatting with someting very much like an intellegent rock, he takes it all with a grain of salt.

"Uberwald is where yer from? Is that in Europe?"
