Bartending!

Claire steps behind the bar and immediately sets about wiping her down and then straightening the rows of liquor and garnishes. She's in a good mood today and hums to herself as she works.

When she's finally done, she turns to the patrons around the bar and smiles.


"Can I get anybody anything?"

Tony, looking miserable, sits at the bar.

Claire, who is used to Tony looking miserable on occasion, makes and sets a strawberry shake in front of him.

"What happened?"

Tony likes strawberry shakes! Very lightly, he taps his fingers against the bar surface as he pulls the shake closer to him and sips.

"Got into a fight with Jack."

"His fault or yours?" she asks and leans against the bar. It's a slow day so far. She can spare the time to listen.

"I'd like a mint julep, please, and to say sorry," Asar-Suti says, turning up at the bar like any Wednesday.

"Hey Asar-Suti," she smiles and hands him his drink. She was prepared today. Had it waiting for him.

"Why are you sorry though?"

"For the Hellfly - I should have kept it safe," Asar-Suti says. "You know that was the cause of all the weirdness last week?"

He accpets the drink, and takes a sip.

"I've heard something about it," she shrugs. "But it's okay. Aside from a little embarrassment, it didn't have any lasting effects on me. How could you have kept it safe?"

*Penny walks back in from outside and walks over to the bar*

Hey Claire, think I could get a glass of water with lemon please?

*Penny smiles*

Claire looks up with a slightly embarrassed smile. "Hey, Penny. Absolutely."

She pours a fresh glass of water and sets a lemon wedge on the rim. "How are you doing?"

I'm doing pretty good, how are you?

"Very good," she nods with a smile. "Better after last week. I'm not usually so. . . forward, honest."

"Good afternoon, Claire." Barry has dispatched the Claire of last week to the past. So he's all smiles.

She winces and gives him a very embarrassed smile. It won't be over for her until she's apologized to everyone.

"Hey, Barry. I can't believe you're still talking to me after how I acted last week."

"Think nothing of it." He smiles broadly. "It wasn't you. it was whatever the Hellfly did. There was a lot of that going around. And now that is done and forgotten.

"Can I get a refill on my lemonade?"

"Well, I'm sorry anyway," she smiles and nods, letting the topic go. She takes his glass and refills it.

"And of course. How are you today?"

"Burger and fries...and something mashed and gooey for the little guy?"

Teddy gurgles happily her and Jack grins winningly.

She looks up and beams. She doesn't get to see too many babies besides her own around the bar.

"Of course," she smiles and puts the order in, and then holds out her hand. "I'm Claire, by the way."

He nods and takes the hand before remembering.

"Seth's mom?"

He smiles.

"Nice to meet you, Claire. I'm Jack, this is Teddy."

Teddy for his part gives her big blue baby eyes and giggles.

Adam bounces up to Claire, wearing one of his simpler frocks and minimal make-up.

"Hi! Are you Claire?"

Claire blinks and then smiles, amused. "I am. Yes. Hi."

She holds out her hand.

He shakes hands, grinning.

"I'm Adam. Or Felicia. Or Sparkles."

Guppy decides that there are only two options here. 1. Hide from Claire forever. 2. Get this over with. He approaches very nervously, fiddling with his hair and red with embarrassment.

"Hello Claire. I must apologise to you for anything I said that was inappropriate the other day. I.. er.. wasn't myself."

She looks up with her own embarrassment. "It's okay, Guppy. I need to apologize too. Neither one of us were ourselves."

"Ok, right... erm... let's forget about the whole thing then." he says, feeling like he just wants to shrink to pint glass size and hide in a hole somewhere.
"After all, it was the fly, not us really."
