When Steve sits at the bar, the first thing he gets is a cupcake with red, white and blue frosting and Happy 95th Birthday!.

"Yeah, yeah," he says in a good-natured tone, because even he has given up trying to keep track of how old he is. Twenty-eight, ninety-five, two? Ninety-five is probably the most accurate.

The second thing he gets is a napkin: Want to bartend today?

Yes. Yes, he does. The Big Book of Drinks even has a patriotic section.

Patriotism for Tenzin is slightly different, but he can appreciate the idea of walking into Milliways. Maybe a nice plum tea.

Tenzin, all orange and saffron robes, collects himself in a barstool.

(At least Milo isn't here. He's tiring, some days.)

"Tenzin!" says Steve, pleased. "You look festive today."

Tenzin's still looking at the drinks selection more than Steve just yet. "Are any of those non-alcoholic?"

"Lookin' good for ninety five." Joshua points to the cupcake. "Happy Birthday?"

"Thanks," Steve says simply. "I slept through most of it."

"Ah, that's the best way to do it, if you can." He pauses. "I know that feel. Not to that extent, that would be Helena's department, but I took a twelve-year vacation from time."

Hank comes in from a frustrating day of working on Cerebro, which is always holds a thread of frustration as Erik is always so smug and abrasive. To unwind, Hank had been meaning to head to the hanger and work on the electrical system of the Black Bird but Milliways will do quite nicely. And hey, it's Steve behind the bar.

"Steve, how are you doing?" He asks taking a barstool.

"Hi, Hank," Steve says warmly. "I'm doing pretty good. How are you doing? It's been a while."

"It has, a few months maybe? At least for me." Hank replies looking over at the Specials board and noting the cupcake. "And things are going pretty well, though not without frustrations.

"Is it your birthday?"

[OOC: And looks like I will be in and out today as well.]

"Happy Liberty Day, Steve," Sunshine beams, approaching the bar. "Oh - and happy birthday, too!"

"Happy Independence Day," Steve answers. "And thank you."

Rae is in a sleeveless shirt of red-and-white check, today, and a plain pair of blue jeans. The colors and the day are right, even if the words and nations are different. As she takes a seat at the bar, she asks, "How have you been?"

"Hello Rae, you are looking better rested." Amanda takes a seat.

"Hey, Amanda," Rae smiles, taking a seat at the bar. "It's amazing what a couple of nights of twelve hours of sleep will do."

Though the sleep's not responsible for how the bruises she'd worn are now completely gone.

Amanda sits down, "An All-American Beauty, Please."

"Hi, Amanda," Steve says with a smile and starts getting the drink ready. "How are you doing today?"

The body is different from the last time they spoke but the voice is the same.

Daryl sidles up to the bar and grins at the drink selection. Something nags him in the back of his mind but he pushes it back quickly and resumes his stoic look. He peruses the drink selection once again and then says,

"Any chance of some tequila? Straight..."

"Absolutely," Steve says and gets the bottle and a shot glass. "Happy Fourth of July."

A man that Steve has met about two weeks ago approaches the bar and looks at the specials.

"Good evening," he says. "And happy birthday! Will it be patriotic enough of me if I order wine from Virginia?"

"Thank you," Steve says, "and of course it is. Whether we have it or not..."

He scans the shelves, and what do you know--the bar has wine from Virginia. "You're in luck, Dr. Lecter."

It is a really good thing that cupcake is there because, other than the solstices, Orpheus is just really bad with dates.

"I'll take an All-American Bartender," he says with a smirk as he takes a seat at the bar.

"The bartender isn't on the menu," Steve says, trying very hard not to smile, "but for you I'll make an exception."

He leans over the bar to kiss Orpheus hello.

The wild west teacher-cum-outlaw approaches the Bar today, all shined up for the Fourth. She's wearing fine blue skirts and a burgundy blouse, a sprig of lavender fastened to her lapel with a birthstone pin, and a daisy tucked into her finely braided hair.

(She still has on her guns and boots, of course. Some things never change.)

She sets a jar of spiced peaches on the counter, and smiles.

"For the tender."

Steve grins. "Those look delicious, thank you. Did you can them yourself?"

It's the flash of it all that draws Dixie in: she does appreciate showmanship. But then she sees Steve, remembers him from their earlier meeting, and smiles.

"I see Bar's letting you celebrate the day."
