"Of course. Although I do not know that I will look as fetching as Miss Lethe. We decided I may clash with everything."

"Black?"

He cocks his head.

"You would look lovely in black and white."

He pauses thoughtfully.

"It would be tolerable, I suppose."

"It would be lovely," he asserts, fingering the collar of his own white shirt.

"I will not care in any matter, so long as you may see."

"I would not care either, but I think that I shall draw enough attention as it is."

A rueful smile and he shakes his head. "But that is no matter. I will not miss your ballet."

"They will all be jealous of me, to have such people coming."

He can't wait.

He grins.

"Good. I am quite anxious to see."

"And me, with my clothing on."

Pleasant change.

"I only lose my shirt once."

Fiyero laughs a little.

"Only once? I am sure some of the crowd will be disappointed." Teasingly. He shakes his head.

"I hope so. It means I am doing something right."

He nods.

"I am supposed to be the handsome lover."

"I don't think that will be too hard for you to pull off, considering."

A smile. "You will be wonderful, I assure you."

A surprised burst of laughter.

"You are a wonderful flatterer. Tell me? How are Liir and Trindle? And have you spoken to your lady?"

"Indeed I have not." His brow furrows a little.

"But Liir and Trindle fare well. I am still a little surprised that she bit her grandmother." He may have mentioned this before.

"She seemed innocent when I saw her."

He expression furrows too, matching Fiyero's.

"She is, I am sure. But she's a curious little thing, like her grandmother."

A smile. "Perhaps she wanted to see if Elphaba tasted the same, as she is Green also."

"Ah."

He resolves again to never put his fingers near Trindle.

"And spoken to anyone else of note?"

"None at all, I am afraid. Somewhat of a reculsive thing I am, lately."

He shakes his head, "I am not sure why."

"I missed you."

He shrugs.

"But I have been gone too, so it would have done little good."

He smiles a little more.

"Well, yes. It is only that I have been busy with getting the trick of the broom, and of figuring myself. And I am here now, so."

"Will you take me flying?"

Dredging up his bravery.

"One time?"

He'd seen how Jack was afraid of the broom the last time, so.

"Of course." He squeezes Jack's arm. "Only as high as you'd like."

"Thank you. I have decided to try what I can."

For slightly morbid reasons, but shhh.

"And that is at least something."

"I'm not entirely sure I could take you up, though. You might have to go up without."

But he grins. "I'd be poised to catch, of course."

"And if I fell into your arms with a whoomch," his nose wrinkles in repressed laughter, "then what would become of the broom?"

"It seems to me it might find its own way back down."

Or he likes to think it might. A shake of his head. "But I do not think you would fall off."
