[OOM: The Dark Portal is destroyed and the forces of Azeroth must seek shelter on the world of Draenor.]

The Door does not open.

Instead there's a flash of purple light in the form of concentric, oval rings. An older man in dusty blue and silver robes and holding a staff appears at the center of them and for a moment he looks terribly confused. His eyes start to glow the same shade of purple as he looks around, stopping when he spots the Window. The glow fades as his mouth falls open.

Then he grins. "Ha HA! I knew it! Modera owes me a drink!"

"Kriff, so he found that demon blood to drink too?"

He doesn't know what fel is but he's seen drugs that give people strength and how it changes them.

"No, Garrosh decried demons and anyone who trafficked with them," Khadgar explains. "The old Horde was being used by the Burning Legion, you see, a host of demons that's been trying to destroy Azeroth for over ten thousand years. The Horde was just their latest gambent at the time. It's left a permanent mark on their people, one that Garrosh looked down on. He was too young, you see, to partake of the blood himself and so he's not corrupted. He views those of his kind with green skin as weaker.

"Of course, then he turned around and embraced void magic instead so he really isn't one to talk."

"What a mess. How does your planet survive with all the war?"

"Honestly, I'm not sure. The only time we don't seem to be fighting each other is when we're fighting something that wants to kill us all. We do sometimes have peace in between, even if it doesn't last very long."

"They rarely do. My home's like that, there's always trouble somewhere."

"I imagine so with an empire that controls a, what did you say, a galactic?"

The closest thing they have to that is the Burning Legion.

"Yes, the Galactic Empire. Do you have various governments on your planet or is it more factions?"

"Some of both, I think. The Horde has various races that all answer absolutely to a Warchief, while the Alliance has more of a council system with a High King at the head of it. There are a few kingdoms and organizations that don't answer to either, though."

"It must be dangerous to travel between different territories."

"Indeed it is. Many hire adventurers to protect them or even make such journeys in their stead. We have no shortage of them given our constant conflict," he says dryly.

"No, I imagine its also good business for smugglers."

That gets a bark of laughter out of him.

"It is! Dalaran's underbelly, the city where I live, is often thriving. Not that I should know anything about that."

Cassian smiles at that, "I'm a pilot, a lot of people I know are on the shadier side of things."

Khadgar looks confused.

"Why would being a pilot do that?"

Aircraft are still strictly a military thing on his world.

"Because its a little easier for us to have reasons to go between systems."

"You mean to say you're an adventurer with your own plane? Most impressive!"

"Ship, but yes. I do have a co-pilot. I'm not that impressive just good at knowing how to get in and out of various places."

Khadgar looks taken aback a moment.

"I believe we have different ideas of what a 'ship' is. I know them as great vessels capable of carrying armies or even a city's worth of people. Is that what you fly?"

Cos that's even more impressive.

"No, its smaller and called a U-wing and can hold maybe fifteen people and some large weapons. There are ships like what you mentioned in my world with different names depending on where they're from."

"And they're all capable of transporting between planets? Even the small ones?"

"Yes, not every one can but most have the engine capability to do that. There are ships like mine and others down in the garage. It might be easier to show you."

"I'm sorry, Cassian, but that is impressive. Only the greatest of the draenei's crystal ships can move between worlds. That you've not only smaller versions of this but know personally how to fly one? That's rather amazing.

"But then again, what do I know? I'm just an old man after all." He says this last like it's an old joke. "I wouldn't mind seeing them, after I've rested a bit."

"Its always wonderful that first moment when you break atmo and then there's hyperdrive which allows travel between systems. It wasn't easy but there's nothing like flying," Cassian smiles and nods as he loves talking about ships and flying, "Maybe after we eat."

"What do you mean by 'break atmo'?" Khadgar loves learning, so he's happy to listen to Cassian talk.

"Leave a planet's atmosphere, go from the blue of sky, well sometimes blue into the black of space."
