[OOM: Enzo's first Game as a Guardian is more than meets the eye. Rated N for Non-explicit Naughtiness in the prologue and R for ROBOTS!]

One thing no one likes about Games - even those who generally enjoy them, like Enzo - is when they come down in the middle of the night. It may not be bad at the time, but you always pay for it later. On the other hand, no one expects you to be fully functional the day after.

Enzo wants to be, though. He's his system's newest Guardian, for as long as he's still at home, and he owes it to the system to be fully alert and on the ball when he's on duty. And a Guardian is always on duty.

So he's cheating. Hooray for Milliways time-freeze!

In other words: green boy napping onna couch. With a teddy bear. Frisket's curled up on the couch, too, and kind of crowding Enzo's feet.

"I...don't think so," she answers. She looks a little bit creeped out. "But maybe robots have different ideas of comfort than other people."

"Maybe 'cause I was a tape. That's weird."

"Is it the weirdest thing you've ever turned into?"

Enzo considers this. "I think so. Most Games just change your clothes and maybe your hair and give you stuff like vehicles or weapons or magic. That's not usually too weird. 'Cept when I was in Castles and Knights and I rebooted as mumble mumble."

"You...what?" Dani leans in closer, unable to discern that last thing he said.

"rebooted as a damsel"

This is Dani.

This is Dani's hand.

This is Dani's hand covering her mouth as she tries not to laugh out loud at the mental picture of Enzo in a dress.

"I didn't even get to play! I was the goal!" Enzo rails against the unjustness of the 'Net. "And the stupid skirt was a static mesh longer than my legs so I couldn't even move!"

"That sucks," agrees Dani (still trying not to laugh).

Oh, he sees her trying not to laugh. "I finished off the User, though," he points out with wounded pride.

"Really?" She didn't mean for that giggle to escape, honest. "How'd you do that?"

"Threw my megaphone at him."

Blinkblink.

"Your megaphone?"

"Yeah. How else are the knights s'posed to hear a damsel calling for help all the way at the top of a tower?"

Dani pauses to think about this.

"...good point."

"Plus it made me sound more like a damsel." He smirks. "Actually, it made me sound like Dot."

"Now that's weird."

His smirk increases. "Yeah, and Bob showed up thinking he had to rescue Dot, but she'd rebooted as a knight too!"

"I'll bet that was really confusing," she grins.

He grins back. "It was almost worth it just to see his face." A pause. "But it was still megaembarrassing."

"I'll bet."

"Usually they're fun, though." He pauses, thinking. "I can show you one when you come to Mainframe, if you want. If one comes down while you're there, I mean. I won't let anything in it hurt you," he promises.

"Cool!"

She smiles. "I know you wouldn't, Enzo."

"It's too bad you won't be able to use your powers in it, they'd be totally... hey. Hey!" He stares at her, delighted. "I got an idea!"

Dani looks at him, curious. "What?"
