Alex looks up, smiling.

"Hey. Sleep well?"

Nick nods, grinning, and nudges Alex's leg with his foot, since he's across the table. He blows a kiss before turning back to his book, once more writing into it with his pen while grumbling mildly, but good naturedly and sipping on his breakfast.

Alex's book is one for reading, not writing in, and he turns back to it, sipping his tea. After a bit, he starts humming softly under his breath.

Nick listens with a smile, his grumbling turning quickly enough to a harmony to Alex's melody.

"That sounds nice... it's been a while since I've heard Tortallan music, but Bar gave me one of our old storybooks, they often had songs in them. I liked this one."

He smiles at Alex.

"Sounded nice enough. I just...came up with it off my head. It's...fun to do that on the piano sometimes. I'll have to do that with Charlie sometime, perhaps."

He looks to Alex.

"Speaking of Charlie..."

"It's even prettier with the lyrics."

He tilts his head.

"Yeah?"

"I asked him...about what we'd discussed?"

There's a look. It'e the 'I hope you weren't kidding' look.

"He almost jumped me right then, actually..."

It's a sheepish one now.

Alex chuckles softly.

"Well, I don't blame him, certainly... I take it he's not opposed to the idea, then?"

The sheepish look goes into a full on vampiric blush, wherein he looks human and ducks his head a great deal.

"No. He was...rather enthusiastic. Exceedingly...enthusiastic. As I said...with...jumping me."

Richard wanders by with his own tea tray and sits down at a near-by table.

"Morning, Alex."

He looks up and smiles.

"Hey, Richard. Want to join me?"

He nods and grins and carries his tray over to Alex's booth.

"Thank you."

"Why eat alone when you can have company? Even if it is company like me."

He sips his tea, putting his book down.

"How are you?"

He smiles.

"And I'm just fine. How have you been?"

A slight chuckle.

"Do you want the complete truth or the censored version?"

Richard smirks and sips his tea.

"Oh, always the complete truth, good sir knight."

Alex smirks.

"Did you happen to see Nick looking a little flustered last night?"

"Aye, he came downstairs to get supper for you and blood for himself. Seemed a bit rushed."

Another smirk.

"I found out the advantages of the bloodlink last night... made for a very interesting night."

Finger-shaped bruises may be visible around his wrist, if Richard happens to look that way.

Richard grins wickedly.

"Oh, do tell. I'm always looking for new ways to use the link with Amadeo. How long have you been bonded to Nick?"

"The bloodlink itself, just yesterday. There was... I'd had nightmares."

He shakes his head, looking away and sipping his tea.

"Anyway, I think it made him more willing to let go, since he'd be able to tell if I wanted him to stop, through the link. I don't think he entirely trusts me to do what's good for me."
